What does a good submission look like?
TIP #1: Contact us prior to your shoot with the mood board, team, and proposed model so we can provide input to making the shoot on brand with 35mm.
TIP #2: When proposing a shoot, try to provide options of 3-5 models who you have access to for us to provide feedback on who we are most excited about.
TIP #3: Do not send a wetransfer or dropbox link in an initial email submission. Providing a pdf of the images is preferred. The only external link that we approve is an Adobe Spark mood board link (wetransfer or dropbox of final images happens once your story is approved to be published).
TIP #4: When submitting the images, include all credits. Wardrobe credits should clearly indicate which items from each look are which brand. Include instgram and website of the clothing brands. Team credits should include the name they wish to be used for publishing as well as their instagram, website and agency as applicable. Include in your credits the location of the shoot as well as the camera and film used (make sure to indicate which shots were with which film and camera if they differ).
TIP #5: Check out past editorials by us, @35mmMagazine for mood, our fashion inspo account @35mmFashion and our public Pinterest so that you can study and better understand the vibe and direction of the brand.
Note: Submissions are not for print. Print editorials are by direct invitation only. The best way to be noticed by our editors for print consideration is through shooting a story for online first.
